What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on traditional Chinese medicine, and directly translated means "finger pressure".  This therapy consists of body manipulation by a shiatsu practitioner using   fingers, palms, elbows, feet and knee to correct internal malfunctions, promote and maintain health, and treat specific diseases. The techniques used in shiatsu include stretching, massage techinques, and most commonly, accupressure into various points along key channels (meridians).
